BTS is a South Korean boy band formed in 2012, consisting of members such as J-Hope, Jin, RM, Jungkook, and others. The group originally released their debut EP, entitled Square One, in 2013, which received acclaim from fans and critics.
In 2014, the group released their first full album, entitled Square Two, which sold over 1.5 million copies in the first week. The album earned the group their first Billboard Music Award for Album of the Year, and they became the first Korean group to win the MTV EMA Award. The album also received acclaim from fans and critics alike. In the same year, they released their second album, Square Three, which sold over 1.
The group released their third album, Square Four, in 2017.
In February 2018, they announced their plans to split from their label, Big Hit Entertainment, and announced that they would be going independent.
BTS also has a dedicated, active fanbase that often backs them up in public events. Their live performances are also well received by their fans, and they have even been known to turn those concerts into fundraisers for charities.
